One of the last activities at the 14th ITRS in Brest in July will be to announce the venue for the 15th ITRS.
Accordingly, Expressions of Interest to host the 15th ITRS are invited.
In considering an EOI, please note the following:
- ITRS events typically alternate between northern and southern hemispheres. However exceptions have and can be made! All we know at this point is that ITRS must travel and therefore it is expected that the next venue will be outside of Europe. Thus, we anticipate that the next ITRS will be held either in the southern hemisphere beginning of 2028, or in the non-European northern hemisphere at the beginning of summer 2028.
- ITRS events have a very special feel that keeps drawing us back time and time again. We expect that the next host will have a deep experience of ITRS events. This helps to ensure that we maintain the traditions of informality and friendliness, warm welcoming of students, keeping costs as low as possible, etc.
- In preparing your EOI, we will be looking for convincing evidence that you are able to make a firm commitment to the task, and that you will be able to raise a sufficient local organising committee. We would also welcome any commentary about the special attractions of your institution and area to hosting the next ITRS!

Please send your EOI to itrs@ifremer.fr by CoB CET Friday February 28th . The final decision will be taken by an ad-hoc committee of long term ITRS attendees three months before this year’s edition, to give the next hosts sufficient time to think about how they would like to make the announcement this coming July.
